I read in an Instagram post that trimming your hair can help to reduce breakage and shedding. So of course I thought I could cut my own hair 🙄. As a result I cut too much and now I can barely put my hair in a bun 😂. So I decided to try this protective style.
Things you’ll need:
- Brush
- Gel (I used Cantu Beauty Conditioning Lotion prior to using ECO Styler Gel)
- Kanekalon Hair (I used Rastafari in Color 4)
- Rubber Bands/ Hair Ties
- Bobby pins
- Scarf
I washed, deep conditioned, and blow dryed my hair (The end result would probably have been a lot smoother if I ran a flat iron over my edges). Then, I applied the Cantu conditioning lotion. After smoothing that through, I brushed my hair into a small bun. I attached the Kanekalon hair using the rubber band that was already on the hair. Next, I two strand twisted the hair. I wrapped the hair around the bun in a very tight coil (I could have even gone tighter). I added a Bobby pin to secure the hair. Next, I used ECO gel to slick down all my flyaways. Lastly, I tied my scarf to help lay everything down. My suggestion is to leave the scarf on for 15-20 minutes. The longer you leave the scarf on, the more laid!
