Today was definitely dedicated to exploring some of the exciting things Kuala Lumpur has to offer. To do so, we got an early start by heading out at 10am to get food. We walked to a what seemed like a local spot to eat breakfast. It was a little more than a mile from our hotel but that means about a thirty minute walk. https://kandacewithak.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/img_3892.movI absolutely love chicken, rice and a fried egg. It has been my go to meal on this trip so far. As long as I have a combo of these I’m great! TG’s Nasi Kandar was very good. I ordered the nasi goreng with chicken and of course some spice. So good!
After leaving breakfast, we headed to the Petronas Towers. These twin towers were once the tallest buildings in the world but remain the tallest Twin towers.
After seeing the towers, we ventured to the metro to take a trip to the Batu Caves. There are lots of monkeys, chickens, and pigeons so beware. https://kandacewithak.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/imkandacenicole4fd831a8-1f60-41f5-bec8-0fd35b2a6ba3.mov
It was so hot when we arrived, but in a matter of minutes we were stuck in a rain storm. https://kandacewithak.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/img_3896.mov
We decided to thug it out and went inside to see the caves. Now to go inside you have to go up 8/9 flights of STEEP steps. That’s the most tiring and exhausting I had been in forever!
But it is absolutely beautiful inside. https://kandacewithak.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/img_3897.mov
After being soaking wet, we headed back to central, did some light shopping, ate some food then headed back to our hotel.
I never considered taking public transportation in a foreign country but I think it will now be on my to do list when traveling. It really offers no perspective and is really fun.
Tomorrow we head to our next and last destination for this trip which is Phuket. I’m ready to explore Thailand some more!
