Literally off of 3 hours of “sleep”, I woke up this morning and went to breakfast at my hotel, Legacy Suites Sukhumvit by Compass Hospitality. To give my review of the hotel, I would say 4/5. It’s not the newest, but it’s not the oldest hotel either. The staff is extremely sweet and nice. The food seems authentic and is good. So far, the drinks have been A okay with me! After breakfast, I charged up my devices and headed out to see the Reclining Buddha or locally known as Wat Pho. This place is a huge instagram moment. The architecture is absolutely beautiful. It’s amazing to see and read the historical relevance of such a place.
Following Wat Pho, I came home for a power nap. Around 8PM or so, I headed back out to the local mall for food. This was the best decision. You can get a full meal for about 30 Baht, which is about $1. You load a prepaid card and choose your vendors.
I had the spicy basil chicken with steamed rice and a fried egg.
It was so delicious. I also had a mango ice blended drink that was so fresh and great!
Following dinner, my friends and I went to get Thai massages. Prior to getting a Thai massage, I had no idea what it was or consisted of. Boy was I in for a treat. We went to At Ease Massage. The masseuse contorted me in all kinds of ways. Popping joints and ligaments that haven’t been touched in a while. The massage cost 350 Baht which is roughly $11. I wish I could get an $11 massage in Los Angeles.
We ended the night by going to grab a drink. We settled on Titanium Club and Ice Bar. This was a very interesting place. First, their drinks are overpriced. Secondly, it’s seems like it’s a place for American men to meet Thai women to take them home (if you know what I mean). However, they had a live band that was really good! They sang popular tunes and did a pretty good job.
Ending this night at 1:30am. Tomorrow, we head to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for 2 days. I’m loving south east Asia so far.
