The Korean 10-step skin care routine is very tedious. The ten steps include:
- Cleansing Oil
- Foam Cleanser
- Exfoliator
- Toner
- Essence
- Serum, Boosters, or Ampoule treatments
- Mask
- Eye Cream
- Face Cream
- SPF

My experience
I felt that in order to have an authentic trial run of the Korean 10-Step routine, I needed to buy Korean products. I tested out two products from The Face Shop that I will definitely buy again.
To start, I begin with The Face Shop Cleansing Oil. This product will remove any dirt, makeup or anything that may be on the skin. With one pump, I massage in the oil which is grabbing hold of all that surface dirt. Here’s a link to this product. The Face Shop Facial Cleanser, Natural Rice Water Light Cleansing Oil Moisturizer for Dry or Oily Skin – 150 mL /5 Oz
Next, I use The Face Shop Foaming Cleanser. The Cleansing Oil and the Foaming Cleanser are best paired together. The foaming cleanser grabs what the oil has lifted and what is left behind. A small amount is all you need. Here’s a link to this product. The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam, 5 Fl Oz
I follow the cleanser with an exfoliate. In the above video, I used a Charcoal and Black Sugar mask/scrub that I bought from CVS (purchase here). I sometimes alternate products and use Biore Charcoal Acne Scrub. Here’s a link to this product. Biore Charcoal Acne Scrub 4.5 Ounce (133ml) (2 Pack)
The next step is the mask. I alternate which mask I use. Somedays I will use the Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask (http://amzn.to/2oxq1ZQ), other days I will use the Aztec Clay Mask (http://amzn.to/2EXiQVT), and some days I just use sheet masks that I find at Target or CVS.
After twenty minutes, I wash the mask off and apply toner from a small spray bottle. I felt this was most effective in getting the product to penetrate the skin opposed to me rubbing it across my face with a cotton pad. I used Thayers Witch Hazel with Rose Petals. Here’s a link to this product. Thayers Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, 12 Fluid Ounce
For the serum step, I use Eminence Clear Skin Willow Bark Booster Serum (http://bit.ly/2EYhKoK). This product has helped to reduce my pore size but I am uncertain if it has done much else. I will continue to use it until the bottle is empty.
When I have a breakout, I use Vernell Acne Drying Lotion (http://amzn.to/2CLXCnZ). I apply it to a zit and it is gone the next morning.
Lastly, I use Ponds Dark Spot Correcting Cream(http://amzn.to/2Cp9SyZ) to target my uneven skin tone.
Will I continue this routine?
Yes! I do not follow all steps, nor do I follow them in sequence. I have adapted the Korean routine to best fit my skin and my needs. If you have any suggestions, tips, or modifications please leave them in the comment section below. I have seen a substantial turnaround in my skin and the way that it feels. I do have hormonal acne so when my period comes around I have to fight the urges to pick but all-in-all my skin is doing a lot better.
