I love a simple makeup look. My most simple makeup can be achieved with just five makeup essentials.
1. BB Cream
I do not wear foundation because I have such sensitive skin. As a result, I turn to Beauty Balm or BB Cream to act as my foundation. I love it because it offers me enough coverage while also allowing me to build upon it if I want full coverage. On days when I want a more “natural” look, I can wear the BB cream by itself or pack it on to give coverage just like foundation.
My favorite brand is Kiss. I am able to find this at my local beauty supply store. If anything was to happen to this brand, I would absolutely not know what to do. I have been using it faithfully for the last four years.
2. Concealer
There are nights when you do not get enough sleep and your best friend becomes concealer. I absolutely love L.A.Girl Pro Concealer. I rotate between three different shades: Cool Tan, Toffee and Pure Beige. Concealer definitely helps to brighten up my face and my makeup routine cannot be without it.
3. Mascara
Even a no makeup look should include mascara. There is nothing like a voluminous lash. I don’t think I’ve ever used a mascara that I did not like but I absolutely love Maybelline’s Great Lash. Multiple coats are for sure necessary.
4. Bronzer
Bronzer gives you the ultimate glow but it also doubles as a great product to contour with. My favorite bronzer at the moment is NARS Casino. While it is a bit pricey, it is the best bronzer I have ever used and it has lasted me a really long time. I absolutely love it.
5. Highlighter
A glimmer is needed to give that dewy, supple skin look. By using a highlight, you make those cheeks pop! I love highlighters because they give off the illusion of nourished skin. As of lately, I have been using the Carly Bybel Palette highlighters, specifically the two on the far right (pictured above). The darker bronze color looks best when I use a lot of bronzer. The gold is great for dramatic looks.
These are just my essentials. I cannot do my makeup without any of these products. The same products also allow me to complete a simple makeup look.
