Viva Las Vegas!
The Hangover movie series has definitely glorified and intensified the turn up lifestyle in Las Vegas. This past weekend, I took a trip to Sin City. I think I have mastered the Las Vegas turn up. I also think I am getting too old for it. Here are some tips I rely on to survive a Las Vegas turn up!
Stay hydrated!
The last thing you will even consider drinking is water when traveling to Las Vegas. Let me tell you, DRINK WATER! Dehydration is the last thing you want to deal with when all you want to do is turn up! If you drink enough water you won’t be dead after partying all night.
Make sure your friends are with IT!
Las Vegas is really an “anything can happen” type of city. Your friends, or the people you are with, need to be the same way. If they are not down for whatever, leave them at home. IT can be a whole lot of things like going to the club, going to a new friends room, picking a friend up from jail or the hospital. You just never know, so be ready!
Make New Friends
People travel to Las Vegas to celebrate something, birthdays, bachelor/ette parties, etc. It is the perfect opportunity to make new friends. Be talkative. Simply talking to someone can land you at a table with free booze and even a free meal!
Drink A Lot Of Liquor!
If you are of age, drink up! Las Vegas is a pretty weird place and liquoring up helps to get by. Drinking liquor also helps to fulfill some of the previous points.
(Most of) What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas
The city slogan is What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas and this is true most times. However, don’t go to Vegas and do anything flat-out stupid! Don’t get arrested because that WILL leave Vegas with you. Do not have unprotected sex and leave Vegas with a STD. Don’t lose a phone, ID, debit card or keys because it truly sucks to get home and not have those things (and yes I am speaking from experience on the latter). The slogan encourages you to live with no regrets, which is great, but also make logical decisions that won’t impact your life when you leave.
Have Fun!
The point of a turn up in Las Vegas is to have fun! Some of the things you enjoy may not reflect this survival pack but as long as you have the fun you like to have is all that matters!
