I really did not want to participate in Halloween this year. I just was not in the mood. However, as an Educator I am forced to participate. My last-minute Halloween costume is a skeleton.
Back Story
All of my coworkers had decide to be Skeletons this Halloween. As the true procrastinator and absent-minded person I am, I totally forgot and went scrambling for a shirt and could not find one so I decided to do “skeleton makeup”. Two videos guided this journey, which you can watch here and here.
My Attempt
I used make-up products that I already had at home because, as aforementioned, I was scrambling.
- Stipple foundation all over face. I used the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation. This foundation is too light for my skin so that’s why it was perfect for this look.
- Fill in brows. You cannot have a makeup look without a full brow. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Chocolate.
- Using black eyeshadow, carve your contour along your cheekbones towards your mouth. Then buff down the black towards your jaw.
- (For darker skin) Use a deep brown contour shade to further define your carved black line. I used the darkest contour on the BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush 2 Palette.
- Using black liquid eyeliner, I outlined my nose and filled it in. Next, I went over that with black eyeshadow to make it more matte.
- I added the black shadow to the bridge in between nose and mouth and under my bottom lip.
- Sweep black eyeshadow over your eyes.
- Add white to the outside of your mouth. I used the NYX Jumbo Pencil. I then added black lines using black liner.
I think I look a mess, but it was a quick, last-minute costume that I could probably perfect if I had the time.
