I have never read a book that put through so much of an emotional rollercoaster. Ayòbámi Adébáyò’s Stay With Me is truly a riveting book that illuminates the struggles of maintaining a career and family within traditional African ideals.
I saw this title will scrolling through Twitter. I decided to stow it away for a time when I was in need of a book. When I started reading this book, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. However, it catches pace fairly quickly. Almost immediately into the book, the plot thickens. If you have been here before, you know by now that I do not give away spoilers but instead recommendations. I HIGHLY recommend that you grab a copy of this book.
Very broadly, we all know that fertility and child mortality is something that all women face regardless of race or class. I could not imagine having to confront those issues multiple times. Ayòbámi Adébáyò very eloquently writes the emotions of a woman who is simply tired.
If you have read this book, what are your thoughts?
