I have been reading a lot of romance novels for whatever reason lately and stumbled upon this title as a recommendation. I really don’t know what I was expecting. From the title and cover, I thought it would be a cheesy book about numbers, love and Asians. But let me tell you, it is far different from what I suspected.
The Plot
The book is about a very successful statistician that is looking for a more serious relationship. However, she feels as though she won’t find true love until she learns how to master her skills in the bedroom. Yes, she wants to get better at sex. She hires an escort (prostitute) to help her “practice”. They end up falling for each other.
My Opinion
If sex makes you uncomfortable or you don’t want to read very visual sex scenes, this is probably not the best book for you. Some of the scenes really take you back and make you say “whew”. Not that they are super graphic but the word choice is so great that it really helps to paint the picture.
This book also has GREAT character development. The two main characters have their own flaws that they believe hinder them from having sustainable relationships. Both of their flaws are plausible, realistic, and relatable. Hoang did a great job of offer authenticity to normal relationships. The characters are my favorite part of the book.
Would I recommend this book?
I would definitely recommend this book. It was a quick read for me and definitely a page turner. I did not want to put this book down. If you get a copy of it, I know you will enjoy it as well.
