After reading “The Wedding Date” and “The Proposal”, Jasmine Guillory is one of my new favorite authors. I never thought I would be into the genre of romantic comedy but Jasmine has me hooked and wanting more.
I love that all of her books are intertwined while also having a personality of their own. In this third installment (if we want to call it that), we follow the budding relationship between former frenemies, Maddie and Theo. Maddie is the best friend of Alexa from “The Wedding Date” and Theo is Alexa’s coworker. They once couldn’t stand each other but after one night Theo and Maddie end up having sex and want to continue a sexual relationship without telling their mutual friend Alexa. Unfortunately they are both in Alexa’s wedding party and have to fight urges to not display affection.
This book is a constant reminder that sometimes your soulmate, or lover, can be within reach if only you slightly change the perspective. It also revealed that you can meet partners through your friends and my friends have failed me miserably.
Guillory will be releasing another book this fall which I will be reading without a doubt!
