Many people do not like Balenciaga shoes but I love them! While they are very expensive, I think they are extremely comfortable making them worth every penny.
The original Balenciaga Speed Trainer took the streetwear world by storm. The sock style was so popular that we saw many different renditions by various brands. One thing that could not be replicated is the comfort.
I am Balenciaga’s biggest supporter because they are so comfortable. I recently bought the Track Sandals, which are great but not the best now that the seasons are changing.
I have yet to come across a pair of shoes that are as comfortable as Balenciagas. The Nike Sock Dart followed by Yeezy 350s are very close but Balenciaga still reigns supreme.
Balenciaga Speed Trainer vs. Speed Trainer 2.0
The only true difference between the speed trainer styles are the sole. The original Speed Trainer does not have the flexibility in the sole as the the Speed Trainer 2.0. There is also a difference in price by roughly $100. The difference isn’t really that noticeable.
Price
Balenciagas are nearly a thousand dollars a pair. It sometimes pains me that I am spending that much on a single pair of shoes but I am also supportive of things that bring me joy and shoe buying is that!
With the price point, my suggestion is to think long and hard about them before buying. I looked through my current wardrobe and realized I would get enough wear out of the all black pair.
Are They Worth the Price?
In short no. I could literally have bought about five pair of Jordans and so many pairs of Vans, but here we are. I love designer things and I am a sucker for a label. If you see me with them on every single day, don’t say anything.
I have my eye on another pair of Speed Trainer 2.0. I think the all tan color will be fire for the fall.
