There is no denying that the Tom Ford Padlock Heel are a baddie essential. The classic shoe design looks great with so many different looks. They are a sexy shoe but the key question is are they comfortable?
Black vs. Gold
As a birthday present to myself, I bought a pair. I spent many nights trying to decide between black or gold. 80% of my wardrobe is black so that seemed like the best choice, but my intuition kept pulling me towards gold. I am glad that I decided on gold because it is a lot more versatile and they look damn good against my skin tone. Getting the Tom Ford Padlock Heel in black is still a great option.
How To Order?
I purchased my pair directly from Tom Ford. But you would be able to find them at all major retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman. You can also potentially find them on sale if you search hard enough. But they are such a hot commodity that you would have to move quickly.
Cost?
These shoes will cost you a pretty penny. They are not “cheap” at all. They have a retail sticker price of $1,190. After taxes, I paid a little more than $1,200. That is a lot for a shoe. However, I have a soft spot for shoes and so I am always going to spend it.
When buying luxury purchases, I tend to first see if I can find them on consignment. My next option is to make sure that it is a purchase that I will absolutely wear more than once. I rationalize the purchase with a simple equation: cost/number of wear. This is how I make it make sense for me.
Are they comfortable?
Most heels are not comfortable but rather how much allotted comfortable time you can get out of them. These heels were comfortable for the occasions in which I’ve worn them — dinner. I would not say that they are an all day shoe, but you can definitely get a cute dinner and club moment out of them. The strap across the toe is a bit tight but I know it will loosen over time.

Will I buy another pair?
Yes! I am actually eyeing either the black pair or the denim pair. I think the denim style would be so great for the summer. Neiman Marcus has them right now!
