After a refreshing RHOA premiere, the second episode is getting deeper into the mess.
Long Live The White Refrigerator
Nene’s comments about the white refrigerator will live on forever and I promise I will not let it die. I love that the editors are also not letting it go. The single scene of Nene walking through the apartment and seeing the white refrigerator has directly impacted the housing market where I won’t even look at a property if the fridge is white.
Speaking of home renovations, there is no denying that Chateau Sheree is gorgeous. Even though it took forever to finish, it is amazing. I didn’t know Sheree had the coins. Her basement would be the most fun place to entertain guests as it has a nice bar, lounge-like seating area, and even a spa area. It’s also nice to see that Kenya and Sheree are in a peaceful place, especially following the banter between Moore Manor and Chateau Sheree. I don’t think I would have ever seen the day that the two would be cordial but here we are.
We also saw Kandi and Todd doing renovations on their home. For much of Kandi’s tenure on the show, she has lived in her estate. I love the black marble effect around the pool. In the episode preview, the editors made is seem that Todd had a New Jersey apartment as a way to sneak away. However, he has an apartment from a previous relationship. I understand Kandi’s reservations about being a spot with her husband that he previously shared with someone else. Yet, Todd was able to look past that when moving into Kandi’s house so maybe she can do the same.
The Rookie Is Moving Like A Vet
Sanya Richards-Ross is a great addition to the cast. While she is a rookie on this season of RHOA, she is definitely not new to being on screen. She is able to organically mesh with the other cast mates seamlessly. Also, her home dynamic is going to be interesting to watch this season. Nine people living in a single house within the first year of living in a new city is going to be interesting to see.
Sanya is also a mini bone collector, but she does it in a way that is so subtle it is going unnoticed. Someone, maybe during the season or at the reunion, will bring up how Sanya has delivered mess but on the low. I can’t wait to see how that unfolds.
The Messy Assistants
A theme this season seems to be assistants. First, there’s Anthony, who is Drew’s assistant but was allegedly Sheree’s assistant first. He is making the accusations that Sheree owes him money, which would not be far fetched because, allegedly she face financial circumstances when trying to build and finish the Chateau. Allegedly all of Atlanta knows that delayed construction was because the coins were not there. With a bit of foreshadowing in this episode, the tension between assistants is probably what creates the wedge between Sheree and Drew.
Side note: Speaking of foreshadowing, the friendship conversation between Marlo and Kandi is going to probably show how their friendship will decline. I loved the conversation they were having. Kandi was also really honest with Marlo letting her know “you have to be the friend you want to be”. I hate that they will get into it this season but I am also glad that they have since made up.
Why does being Black always equate with struggle?

The Worst Husband on RHOA… maybe even all Housewives franchises
One of the worst husbands in Housewives history is Ralph Pittman Jr. For Drew not to be aware of the way that he gaslights her is frightening because in the year that we have seen her on screen he has lit her up so many times. Shoutout to the editing team for bringing up the receipts. Can you imagine what he does and says when cameras are not rolling? I also don’t understand how she doesn’t see these behaviors and reflect that maybe Ralph isn’t the best partner for her. It Is my hope that she comes to the realization that she can do better. I did appreciate the other husbands checking him on BS. Men often don’t hold their friends accountable so that was good to see them poke holes in Ralph’s story when talking with Ross and Todd.
Ralph is constantly deflecting from addressing the issues that exist within his marriage. Even more so, when Drew tried to advocate for herself, he constantly diminished her feelings. This man said that he is always going to put himself first before his wife and family. For him to create this elaborate dinner to only later tell her that he should never do things for her because she is trying to express her feelings is blaring. The dinner scene was so cringe to watch. For a clinician to call someone a maniac makes me think it has to be true.
I hope that Drew sees the interactions on screen and revisits whether or not Ralph is the best husband for her. He is absolutely a terrible husband and staying in a relationship for the kids is definitely not enough.
