The ladies of Beverly Hills returned with a premiere episode of RHOBH that definitely set the tone. Last season, viewers saw Erika show no remorse for the victims her soon-to-be ex husband allegedly stole money from. Instead, she was absolutely mean to Sutton and put up another layer of armor that she already wore proudly. Last season, we also saw an interesting dynamic between what could be considered the vets of the franchise (Kyle, Dorit, Erika, and Lisa) against the newcomers (Garcelle, Sutton, and Crystal). So going into this season, I expected Erika to show a bit more sympathy and for Garcelle and Sutton to set up and be the queens that they are. Unfortunately, only one expectation is forming so far.
Garcelle and Sutton are THEE Dynamic Duo of RHOBH
I absolutely love Garcelle and Sutton’s friendship. They bring a genuine and authentic aura to RHOBH. This friendship works because there is an honesty that is present and apparent between the two. As Garcelle says, she trusts Sutton and that is so important. I also love how they ride for one another. Garcelle has made it apparent to Erika that she can’t talk to Sutton any kind of way. Sutton let the world know that she invited Lisa to sit with her at an Elton John charity event but Lisa never said thank you. Basically, Sutton politely, and with great etiquette, was telling Lisa Rinna to shut the hell up expecting things that you aren’t even doing yourself. Once you throw Crystal into the mix, this is the superior group. I would pick them over the vets any day!
Seeing Lisa and Erika sit around talking about the situation with Sutton, they both look like some old, tired, haters. Lisa needs a storyline so she is making this situation with Sutton more than it needs to be. Sutton brought up the story to make a point, Lisa has already addressed it online, so now you either say something in person or you let it go. They have just one more episode to talk about it and then drop it.
Someone pulled the public record of tax donations at the Elton John event. While Sutton’s name was on the list, guess who’s name was not.
Side note: Lisa Rinna pulling a Gucci Diana out of her Hermes Birkin is quintessential Beverly Hills (and I was kind of here for it). I’ve been eyeing a Gucci Diana bag for a minute. People that know me know I love Gucci!
Another side note: I do not want to hear about Erika having sex all season. I could have definitely gone without that.
Erika making herself look bad on her own
It was very gracious of Garcelle to meet up with Erika. Coming into this season, I expected her to be on somewhat of an apology tour. However, she is maintaining her innocence (which is fine) but at least take some accountability for the way you treated people last season and tried to make it seem like you had such a pity story. For Erika to try and claim her innocence when no charges having been dismissed is the kind of delusional I hope to be in life.
Kyle really is so full of shit. I cannot believe that she really tried to get Sutton to be sympathetic towards Erika considering all that transpired last season. It is evident that Erika puts on this emotion-less exterior but to assume that she went home crying following Kathy’s dinner last season is very presumptuous. I am so glad that Sutton called BS on whatever Kyle was trying to give because it clearly was.
Sutton also gave us a nice read that needed to be said. Sutton let us know that yes she is dating but she has her own money so she doesn’t have to look for a man with money unlike other cast mates. Now it wouldn’t be my personal approach to dating but I appreciate her for setting the record straight. Sutton doesn’t have to bring anything to the table because she is the entire kitchen set, okay!
The Break In
It is very unfortunate what has transpired with Dorit and her family. I could not imagine my home being invaded and items worth millions of dollars stolen with my husband, protector, not even being in the country. I have had my home robbed, not while I was there, and I definitely did not feel secure there and ended up moving. Seeing a glam-less Dorit recount her experience was gut wrenching. However, I do not want this to be Dorit’s only storyline. There is discussion on social media insinuating that Dorit’s invasion was either staged, or falsified, for insurance monies. While I am unsure of that, the series of events did pose some questions.
Why would you not set an alarm?
Why would you go out to have dinner or drinks with friends a day after being burgularized?
What would make you think to leave your kids alone to go to said dinner and drinks?
Why is your husband calling Kyle?
Why would you not tell the kids and make it a teachable moment about safety and the importance of life?
Girl, why are you not at home?
I have to believe that what is being presented is truth. We all know how reality TV can be. For instance, it was apparent that Kyle wanted to share in pity for Dorit when she called Sutton over, but Sutton doesn’t care about these women! Those tears dried up quick. Sutton was putting out her own fires. I was taken out when Sutton said, “It’s all relative. I mean, I wasn’t held at gunpoint. I’m sorry.” because getting her French designer through immigration is more important than this alleged break in.
