This past week I traveled to Vegas to see Usher perform in Las Vegas at My Way – The Vegas Residency. I highly recommend going to see the show. I attended the March 1st show of the tour and it was such an experience! I absolutely will go again. If you have the chance to go, here are somethings you want to know before going.
Traveling
Depending on where you are coming from you can fly or your can drive. When flying, you want to fly into LAS (Harry Reid International Airport). From Los Angeles, the flight time to Vegas is about 30 mins in the air. You literally go up to come right down.
If you are driving, give yourself ample time to account for traffic and unforeseen weather conditions. You don’t want to be like these women, who were traveling and missed most of the show (Although Usher offered to fly them out).
Where To Stay
There are so many hotels to stay at in Las Vegas, but I would recommend you stay at the Park MGM hotel since the venue is in this hotel. I have stayed at the Park MGM three times now since I also saw Bruno Mars and Silk Sonic at the same venue. The rooms at the Park MGM give a somewhat retro vibe. I absolutely love the red subway tiling in the bathroom. The walls are kind of paper-thin or the guest next to us are really loud, which is expected in Las Vegas.
If you do not want to stay at the Park MGM, I would also suggest staying on the strip, particularly near the south end of the strip. This will put you closest to Dolby Live.
What To Expect
Usher definitely brings ATL to Las Vegas. Besides Usher providing great vocals because the mic is on, expect a lot of seductive dancing. In other words, there will be a lot of pole dancing and many spicy dance sequences.
One thing that I didn’t expect with this residency was which songs Usher was going to perform. I am sure you can find the set list online, but just know that he touches on his entire catalogue including the EDM songs.
The Best Seats
The Dolby Live is a somewhat small venue. Therefore no seat is a bad seat. However, you can always get a better seat. There is the pit which is standing only but gets your as close to the stage as possible. There are also seats on the stage that could be a cool experience but probably not the best view. Then there’s the 100 level sections, which would be the floor seats. Now every concert goer is not a floor seat or VIP package person so the next best sections are the 200s. Specifically Section 203. There is an interactive part of the show that will make your night if you’re in this section.
Ticket costs will vary but I can assure you that it is worth the experience.
My Way – The Vegas Residency will run from March through October at the Dolby Live in the Park MGM hotel.
