This past Saturday, I attended the Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic. It is an annual event where you get dressed up, drink champagne, and watch a polo match. The real question is, is it worth it?
Show up and show out!
It is definitely an exaggerated fashion experience. If you plan on going to polo classic, I would suggest you pull out your Sunday’s best. It is not the time or the place to dress down. Attendees all looked amazing in their polo-ready outfits. It is so refreshing to be somewhere where everyone thoughtfully got dressed. I particularly love seeing a man dressed up real nice. Another post will come later about my polo classic outfit, so stay tuned.
Who doesn’t love champagne?
I love champagne! Even more so, Veuve Cliquot is my favorite champagne. I experienced true FOMO when I didn’t go last year, so I made it a point to attend this year. Unfortunately there are not fountains of unlimited champagne, but there are bottles for sale.
Expect to spend some coins!
This is not a cheap outing. Admission to the event is $80 for general admission. There are also fast pass options and VIP for an additional cost. Champagne bottles are also pricey on site. A Veuve Cliquot bottle at your local grocer is probably anywhere from $50-60, while the yellow label is $100 and rosé is $120. The purchase of the bottle also comes with a commemorative glove (pictured below).
I went with four other ladies, so we split the cost of two bottles. We also made sure to go to brunch prior so we were good on bottomless mimosas and food. There are a number of food trucks on site.
Is it worth it?
Yes. Despite spending so much money on outfit, uber, champagne, and food, I would definitely go again because it’s the perfect fake bougie outing. I also love outings where you can get dressed up. I have already made mental notes of what to do for next year! My favorite part (besides drinking) is watching the polo match. I have never seen polo played so that is something I can definitely check off my list. I am looking forward to next year!
